MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A Fourth of July fireworks display in Minot may not happen in part because of declining tax dollars spurred by the downturn in oil activity.

KXMC-TV (https://bit.ly/1Xq4cs5 ) reports that organizers are about $8,000 short for the display, which would cost about $10,000 to put on.

Mum Pyrotechnics has put on the fireworks display at Nodak Speedway since 2011. Derrick Miller of Mum Pyrotechnics says organizers are asking for donations so that the fireworks can proceed.
