GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A standoff in Grand Forks in which a 43-year-old man fired several gunshots in a motel room has ended peacefully after several hours.

WDAZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1UjJVkD ) that the man is out of the room. Authorities believe the man was under the influence of alcohol.

Police responded to a call about a distressed individual at the motel about 8 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say the man fired multiple shots in the room after officers arrived.
