PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man was attacked and stabbed while washing his vehicle overnight.

KPHO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1rqlJm9 ) that officer James Holmes says the 31-year-old man was washing the car around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when a woman asked to borrow his phone. Holmes says the man said he didn’t have a phone and three men attacked him.

Holmes says the man was able to defend himself using a high-powered washer, but the woman stabbed him in the side.

Police says the man’s wound doesn’t appear life-threatening but he was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
