CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - Police say a Rhode Island man accused of running over a dog earlier this month in Central Falls has turned himself in to law enforcement.

WJAR-TV (https://bit.ly/1XX5j3s ) reports that a 13-year-old Yorkshire terrier named Lucky wasn’t seriously injured when run over at the busy intersection of Fuller and Summer streets on June 1.

Lucky’s owner, Oleg Buryak, says he was nearly struck himself by a sport utility vehicle that passed right over Lucky, then drove away.

Investigators traced the SUV to 45-year-old Miguel Rondon after obtaining dashcam video of the incident.

Rondon turned himself in Tuesday and said he was driving without a license. He’s due in court June 29. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
