GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Glendale say they have arrested a man suspected in a fatal shooting last weekend.

They say 23-year-old Alejandro Flores-Armenta was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

It was unclear Wednesday if he has a lawyer yet.

Police say 28-year-old Xavier Flores was found with a gunshot wound early Saturday in a parking lot. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say Flores got into a verbal confrontation with someone in the parking lot before the shooting occurred and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Witnesses provided a possible suspect and vehicle description and that led police to Flores-Armenta.

Police say the motive for the shooting isn’t known yet.
