CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The Department of Veterans Affairs has named a permanent director of the Cheyenne VA Medical Center.

Paul Roberts has been interim director of the facility since last November and he officially takes over permanently on June 26. He will oversee delivery of health care to more than 24,000 veterans in southeast Wyoming, western Nebraska and northern Colorado.

The Cheyenne hospital has an operating budget of $153 million.

Roberts joined the VA three years ago after serving more than 20 years as an Army Medical Service Corps Officer throughout the United States and overseas.
