TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson say two people are dead after a two-vehicle rollover crash.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says the incident occurred Saturday around 8:30 a.m.

According to investigators, a Saturn Ion tried to pass a Nissan Frontier in the eastbound lanes on a curved road that was a no-passing zone.

They say a third vehicle approached from the westbound lane.

Dugan says it is unknown if the Saturn and Nissan collided with each other but both vehicles went off the road, rolling over several times.

Police say the drivers, 21-year-old Robert Salgado and 40-year-old Jason Bennett, were ejected and died at the scene.

Bystanders pulled an 8-year-old girl from Bennett’s vehicle. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Dugan says speed appears to be a factor in the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
