WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia fire department officials say two people suffered minor injuries when a large branch snapped off a tree on the National Mall.

Fire officials tell WRC-TV (https://tinyurl.com/jsvcbff) that the branch fell Sunday afternoon near the intersection of 9th Street and Constitution Avenue, Northwest. The National Museum of Natural History is nearby.

Offiicals say two people were removed from underneath the branch and taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
