ARUNDEL, Maine (AP) - Officials have recovered the body of a missing woman from a small pond in Arundel.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 54-year-old Paula Gagne was found submerged in the pond late Saturday afternoon.

They say it appears she drowned.

Gagne had been reported missing last week and sheriff’s deputies traced her cellphone usage to a wooded area. Deputies scoured the area and notified the Maine Warden Service to assist in the search.

No foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week. The investigation is ongoing.
