EATONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Eddie Cole has won a special election to become Eatonville’s interim mayor.

The 58-year old town councilman received 39.6 percent of the vote in Saturday’s contest according to unofficial results provided by the Orange County Board of Elections.

Former mayor Bruce Mount and former councilwoman Frances Sealey also ran for the office held by Anthony Grant, who was suspended by Gov. Rick Scott on March 29 after Grant was indicted for voter-fraud charges relating to the 2015 election that he won. Mount received 163 votes and Sealey 139.

Cole told the Orlando Sentinel (https://goo.gl/YVTQv0 ) that he wants to be a servant as well as a leader.

Cole will serve until Grant’s legal case is resolved.
