SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A Spokane man has been arrested in a crash that killed one teen and severely injured another.

The Washington State Patrol says 29-year-old Ramiro Sanchez was driving under the influence Saturday night when he slammed into a car carrying two Mt. Spokane High School students on U.S. 395 just north of Spokane.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://goo.gl/BU7IN2 ) that the teens, Bailey Roach and Taigen Balbi, were best friends who had just finished their sophomore year. Roach died at the scene and Balbi was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

A 23-year-old woman who was riding in Sanchez’s vehicle was also injured. The State Patrol said Sanchez was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide.
