WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - The Williston State College Foundation is bringing back a former basketball standout and coach at the school to restart the group’s alumni association.

Hunter Berg will take over as director of the association in July. He has been the athletic director at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck for the last four years.

Berg played basketball for two years at the Williston college before moving on in 1996 to play for the University of North Dakota. He returned to Williston State in 2003 to coach women’s basketball and later became head coach of the men’s basketball team as well as athletic director.

Foundation executive director Terry Olson says Berg is a well-respected alumnus who will help the group keep tabs on other alumni and assist in raising money.
