ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves have placed infielder Gordon Beckham on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

The team recalled infielder Brandon Snyder from Triple-A Gwinnett before Thursday’s game against the San Francisco Giants.

Beckham, hitting .284, left Wednesday night’s game after hitting into a double play in the sixth inning. He has started games at second base, third base and shortstop this season.

Snyder will be making his first major league appearance since 2013 with the Boston Red Sox. He has a .243 career batting average in four seasons with Baltimore, Texas and Boston.
