RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Reno Fire Department says bystanders rescued a man who was found in the Truckee River.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/24kSQVr ) that Battalion 2 Chief John McNamara says the man was found floating and struggling in the river and bystanders pulled him out before rescue workers arrived.

McNamara says the man’s identity is not known and it’s not clear how he ended up in the water.

He says the man was conscious, breathing and walked to the ambulance on his own. He doesn’t know any more about the man’s condition.
