LAGRANGE, N.Y. (AP) - State police say they’re investigating the cause of a crash that has claimed the life of a senior at a Hudson Valley high school.

Troopers say 18-year-old Daniel Dangerfield of Pleasant Valley was traveling on a road in the Dutchess County town of LaGrange around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when his vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole.

Firefighters removed him from the vehicle and he was taken to a Poughkeepsie hospital, where troopers say he died from his injuries.

The teen was a senior at Arlington High School.

School district officials say support staff will be made available to students for the remainder of the school year.
