DELAND, Fla. (AP) - A small central Florida city’s mayor is still in office after a hearing over his removal has been postponed.

Media outlets report the DeBary City Council voted on Wednesday to delay the hearing involving Mayor Clint Johnson until July.

The hearing was originally scheduled for that night to determine if Johnson violated city charter rules that prohibit council members from giving orders to city staff.

WESH-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1TQQ2zO) the city presented additional charges against Johnson, which include certain posts he allegedly made on social media.

The mayor and his attorney said they did not have enough time to prepare and asked for the hearing to be continued.

The council agreed to provide more time to all involved parties in order to prepare.

The hearing will be held on July 6.
