GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say the president of a PTA in Greenville County has been arrested on breach of trust charges.

Sheriff’s deputies told local media outlets that the president of the PTA at Slater-Marietta Elementary School was arrested Wednesday.

Deputies say 35-year-old Melissa Dawn Crain is charged with three counts of breach of trust.

Sheriff’s spokesman Drew Pinciaro said about $36,000 had been taken from Slater-Marietta’s PTA fund since 2014.

Pinciaro says school officials notified the sheriff’s office of the missing funds last month.

It was not clear if Crane has an attorney.
