BEL AIR, Md. (AP) - Authorities say a Harford County Sheriff’s Office chaplain has been charged with assault and sex offenses stemming from the inappropriate touching of women during counseling sessions.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Thursday that a grand jury indicted 59-year-old Rev. Kennis Andrew Rolle on Tuesday, and that he has been fired from his job.

Authorities say Rolle inappropriately kissed, hugged and touched two female victims during scheduled and unscheduled counseling sessions in the fall of 2014, in December 2015 and again in February of this year.

The criminal investigation began in March after allegations of misconduct were made, and Rolle was immediately suspended.

Rolle had been employed as a chaplain with the sheriff’s office since September 2012.
