MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Mesa have released the name of a woman they say is the victim of a homicide that appears to stem from domestic violence.

They announced Thursday that 25-year-old Liliana Naranjo was found dead inside an apartment with obvious trauma.

Police say someone walking by a window to the apartment called 911 about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after seeing a woman in apparent distress inside.

Officers entered the apartment and found the woman unresponsive.

Police say they have a “person of interest” in the case but aren’t ready to name that person.
