BROOKVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania high school student has graduated with 12 years of perfect attendance.

Waylon Clinger tells WJAC-TV (https://bit.ly/22zKCcy ) how he graduated from Brookville High School on Wednesday without missing any school days since kindergarten. Clinger says on days he was sick or had doctor appointments, his mother would schedule them at times that enabled him to stay in class.

He says a little luck was involved, too.

Clinger says he and his mother didn’t realize his attendance was perfect until he was in the third grade. He says, “After that, we kind of realized, I’m doing it so I might as well keep doing it.”

Brookville is about 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
