PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A head-on crash in Central Oregon killed two people, one of them a 10-year-old girl.

The Oregon State Police says the crash happened Sunday night on Highway 97 near La Pine. A 1991 Lexus was traveling northbound on Highway 97 when it crossed the centerline, striking a new Ford Fusion.

Police say the 29-year-old man driving the Lexus died at the scene as did a 10-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Ford.

Three others in the Ford were taken to a Bend hospital. Two of them, a 45-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, suffered life-threatening injuries. An 8-year-old boy sustained a minor injury.

The highway was closed for more than four hours after the Father’s Day crash.
