ODESSA, Del. (AP) - Authorities say nine people have been hospitalized following a crash south of Odessa.

The Wilmington News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/28JteN1) that the two-vehicle crash happened around 1:15 a.m. near Blackbird Creek.

Cpl. David J. McKinney Jr., a New Castle County paramedics spokesman, said two people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries and two other patients suffered serious injuries. Five other people were hospitalized for injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

McKinney said one patient refused hospitalization.

Authorities have not released the identities of the people involved in the crash.
