BROOKHAVEN, Ga. (AP) - Brookhaven Police say they have arrested a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl.

Police said in a statement on Monday that they responded to a call on Peachtree Road Saturday and met with the victim and her mom who identified the suspect as Carlos Pacheco-Navas.

Police say the teen told them Pacheco-Navas was making inappropriate advances, including grabbing her and pulling her shirt, as he followed her from the Brookhaven MARTA Station. Police say the girl was able to get away by kicking him on the leg and running away.

Police found Pacheco-Navas in the parking lot of a nearby business.

He faces felony charges including child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Pacheco-Navas is being held in the DeKalb County Jail. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
