HAMBURG TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police say a 43-year-old Hamburg Township man whose body was found in a state recreation area died of multiple knife wounds.

The Livingston Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports (https://bit.ly/28JfgK7 ) Monday that authorities have not yet ruled on a manner of death.

The body was found shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near Bishop Lake within the Brighton State Recreation Area in Livingston County. The man had been reported missing after failing to return Friday night to a campsite.

Officers and firefighters from a number of departments searched throughout the night for the missing man.
