BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Medical Examiner says the March stabbing death of a 38-year-old Brownington man was a homicide.

On Monday the medical examiner updated the findings about the death of Kevin Smith to say the cause of his death was a stab wound to the chest.

Police say a woman called 911 March 28 to report that Smith had a wound to his chest and blood was coming out of his mouth. He was dead with troopers arrived.

State Police detectives are continuing to investigate Smith’s death. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the state police.
