ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Federal authorities say a New Mexico man has been arrested on narcotics trafficking and firearms charges.

David Krowner, of Estancia, made his initial appearance Monday in federal court in Albuquerque.

A criminal complaint charges the 42-year-old Krowner with possession of methamphetamine and heroin with intent to distribute and using and carrying firearms in relation to drug trafficking crimes.

He remains in custody pending a preliminary hearing and detention hearing, both scheduled Tuesday.

Krowner was arrested in Albuquerque last Friday.

Authorities stopped his vehicle and say they found more than 45 pounds of methamphetamine, nearly 4 pounds of heroin, seven packages of heroin, two handguns, one shotgun and more than $25,000 in cash.

Prosecutors say Krowner faces up to life in prison if convicted on the narcotics trafficking charge alone.
