NEW YORK (AP) - Fire officials say a New York City man who was stabbed by his estranged wife died after an ambulance crashed with another vehicle while transporting him to a hospital.

The New York Daily News reports (https://nydn.us/1UJnsKZ ) the 55-year-old Brooklyn man was stabbed Sunday afternoon following an argument with the woman at her Cypress Hills home.

Officials say an ambulance rushing the man to a hospital collided with another vehicle and a second one had to be sent to pick him up.

Police say the man didn’t suffer additional injuries in the crash. He died hours later.

The man wasn’t immediately identified.



The woman told police he choked her prior to the stabbing.
