NEW YORK (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested a suspect in the slaying of a New York City teenager who was stabbed following a confrontation with someone who asked him for money.

Police say 17-year-old Carl Ducasse was repeatedly stabbed in the chest late Friday in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx, a block away from the apartment where his mother was waiting for him.

Police say a man demanded money from the boy and a fight broke out when Ducasse said he didn’t have any. That’s when police say another man joined the melee and stabbed Ducasse. Both men then fled.

WCBS-TV reports (https://cbsloc.al/1tE3mMx ) police said Sunday a suspect is behind bars. The unidentified suspect hasn’t yet been formally charged.
