NUTLEY, N.J. (AP) - Police say a man standing outside a disabled car on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey was hit by a car and left with serious injuries.

NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/1ValH9z ) it happened Sunday afternoon in Nutley.

State police officials say a driver lost control and hit the disabled vehicle that the man was standing beside. The disabled vehicle then hit the man.

He was taken to a Paterson hospital.

Officials say the right lane of the highway was closed briefly after the crash.



Police are investigating. No one has yet been charged.
