Police say one of the men ordered his dog to attack the officer. As the officer dismounted to speak with the men, the dog bit him on the arm. The officer was treated at the scene for his injuries.

The two men face charges of aggravated assault on an officer.

The incident came hours after officers were assaulted by a man outside a nearby homeless shelter as they tried to arrest his wife. They used pepper spray and a Taser to subdue the man.

No officers were injured in the incident.
