SHARON, Mass. (AP) - A Sharon man who police say pummeled another driver during a road rage incident while the victim’s children looked on is free on $20,000 bail.

Alexander Nguyen pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday in Stoughton District Court to charges including assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and making threats to kill. His parents posted the bail.

The confrontation occurred in Sharon on June 12.

Authorities say Nguyen was angry that the other man was driving slowly, so Nguyen pulled up beside him and shouted obscenities. They say the 21-year-old Nguyen got out of his car, assaulted the victim and threatened to kill him.

Nguyen turned himself in Saturday.

Nguyen’s lawyer said the confrontation “wasn’t a one-way attack.” He said a witness said the other man approached Nguyen’s car.
