PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies say two Jackson County men have been arrested on counterfeiting charges.

In a news release, Sheriff Mike Ezell said deputies pulled over a car Sunday in which 27-year-old Nathan Bang, of Vancleave, was a passenger. Ezell says deputies found $400 in a clear, plastic bag inside Bang’s backpack, along with parchment paper in its original container.

Ezell says Bang told deputies he got the money and parchment paper from 45-year-old Malcolm McDaniel, also of Vancleave.

The sheriff says deputies arrested McDaniel and found $5 and $10 bill taped inside a printer, as well as sheets of printed counterfeit money.

Bang faces a charge of counterfeiting and McDaniel was arrested on a production of counterfeiting charge.

Online jail records do not list attorneys for the men.
