NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has added a second aerial drone to its inventory.

Sheriff Travis Patten tells The Natchez Democrat (https://bit.ly/28OwTtB) Greg Iles, of Natchez, donated the Phantom Drone 3, which is valued at $1,259.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a certificate of authority for the sheriff’s office to operate the unmanned aircraft in April.

Patten said they would use the aircraft to survey situations without endangering a deputy or to keep an eye from above on large crowds where security is needed.
