KEENE, N.Y. (AP) - A coroner has determined that an accidental fall claimed the life of a New York City EMS lieutenant who was hiking in the Adirondacks.

State police say 37-year-old Joann Restko, of Staten Island, landed face-down in a pool of water Saturday at the base of Roaring Brook Falls in the town of Keene.

Investigators say Restko slipped and fell 80 to 100 feet while taking pictures near the top of the falls.

Denise Restko tells the Staten Island Advance (https://bit.ly/28KqBJJ ) that her sister was “very devoted” to her job and saved a lot of lives.

She says Joann Restko “loved life” and “loved the world.”
