MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say an off-duty corrections officer shot and killed himself in the Morris County jail.

Officials say 42-year-old Timothy Stoll was a 12-year veteran of the jail.

Sunday’s shooting occurred in an isolated section of the jail where inmates did not have any access.

The jail remained secure and operated under normal conditions.

Morris County freeholders released a statement expressing sympathy to Stoll’s wife and two young children.
