PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a Philadelphia man told police where a gun was buried in a bag but did not reveal the bag also contained a homemade pipe bomb, leading to the evacuation of a police station.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/28KDmc8 ) 31-year-old Brian Horter has been charged with possessing weapons of mass destruction and causing a catastrophe, among related counts.

Police say officers were questioning the suspect about a possible straw purchase of a weapon on Saturday night. They say officers retrieved it and brought it into the station. When they opened the bag, they found a pipe bomb and a gun.

More than 30 prisoners and staff members were evacuated.

Horter is jailed on $2 million bail. It’s not known if he has a lawyer.
