BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck man accused of trying to kill a woman by hitting her in the head with a rock has pleaded not guilty.

Forty-five-year-old Arthur Crissler faces charges of attempted murder, felonious restraint and prohibited possession of a firearm. He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Authorities allege Crissler assaulted the woman in April after she went to his home to retrieve her phone and other belongings.

He’s scheduled for a three-day trial in late October.
