SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police have taken several men into custody as they continue investigating a shooting at a Father’s Day party in a Syracuse neighborhood that left one person dead and another wounded.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/28KEwAC ) officers arrived at an apartment on the city’s west side around 5 p.m. Monday and began taking men away in handcuffs. Two men were arrested for trespassing and two others for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The police action came about 18 hours after gunfire erupted at a large gathering on a street near the apartment.

Officials say a 41-year-old man died after getting shot and a 31-year-old woman was wounded. A 15-year-old girl suffered injuries as she ran from the scene, and her family says she may have been grazed by a bullet.

Police officials say an officer fired her gun once after hearing gunfire at the scene.
