MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - An investigation is underway after authorities say a Manchester police officer opened fire on a city resident.

Lt. Brian O’Keefe says officers on Monday evening were searching for a man wanted in connection with a robbery that took place early Sunday morning.

O’Keefe says police located a man who matched the description of the robber, and he brandished a weapon as they approached him. Authorities say an officer then fired his weapon at the 21-year-old man.

WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/28KlmPs ) reports he was taken into custody and treated at an area hospital for a minor injury. He’s being held on an arrest warrant for armed robbery, and was charged with criminal threatening.

It’s not clear if the man who was shot is a suspect in the robbery. Authorities didn’t immediately identify him.
