MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police in Manchester, New Hampshire, say a police officer fired at a man who brandished a weapon and matched the description of an armed robbery suspect.

Police say the 21-year-old Manchester man was taken into custody and treated at a hospital for a minor injury Monday night. The man’s name and specifics of the injury weren’t released. He was being held for an arrest warrant on an armed robbery charge; he also was charged with criminal threatening.

Police had been checking the area of Wayne and Armory streets following an armed robbery that happened Sunday morning.
