GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Two pit bulls have been euthanized in Green Bay after they mauled a mother and her 15-month-old son who were walking in the neighborhood.

Neighbors came to the rescue after hearing screaming Monday afternoon. The woman was pushing the toddler in a stroller when the dogs attacked and caused serious injuries to both mother and child, who were taken to St. Vincent Hospital.

The owner of the pit bulls wasn’t home when the dogs got loose. Tina Jones says someone purposely let the dogs out of their crates in the basement of her home.
