MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) - A Brooklyn man driving drunk at over 130 mph when he crashed into a tree has been convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide and other charges.

Nassau County prosecutors say Bilal Hassan faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 4. A jury found the 24-year-old man guilty of all 11 charges Thursday after deliberating for an hour.

Other counts included manslaughter, DWI and reckless driving.

They say the November 2014 crash on the Meadowbrook Parkway killed his 24-year-old passenger.

Hassan also was convicted of driving with a revoked license and without a required interlock device from a prior DWI conviction.

Prosecutors say he was driving with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit in the fatal crash.

Hassan’s attorney said he plans to appeal.
