DENVER (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a fatal shooting during an argument that started at a drug deal north of Denver.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/VvPOrL ) 35-year-old Shaun Jeff Snow was sentenced Tuesday for the July 27 death of 42-year-old Casey Griego. Snow pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Prosecutors say he went to a home for a drug deal and the two argued about a gun that Snow had sold to Griego. Snow shot Griego, who was arguing that the gun was defective.

Snow initially told investigators the gun fell from his waistband and fired by accident, but he later said he was trying to shoot Griego in the foot to scare him. He added that Griego was kneeing him and moved his hands so that he fired into his torso instead of his feet.
