WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - The owner of a Rhode Island martial arts school is being charged with indecent solicitation of a minor.

State police allege 24-year old Matthew Thomas, of Warwick, sought naked images and videos from a minor who knew him through his martial arts school.

Armed with a search warrant, the department’s computer crimes unit seized several items from Thomas’ residence Thursday.

He was held on $10,000 surety bail at his District Court arraignment. He was also ordered not to use social media and to have no contact with any minors.

No one answered the phone Thursday at the Davis School of Martial Arts in Warwick that police say Thomas owns. It couldn’t be immediately determined if he had a lawyer.

State police are encouraging anyone with more information to step forward.
