BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Law-enforcement officials are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman whose body was found in Anaconda-Deer Lodge County this month after she walked away from a pre-release center in Butte.

The Montana Standard reports (https://bit.ly/28VvjZc ) Kaitlyn Mary-Faith Grover left the Women’s Transitional Center in April, and her decomposed body was found nearly two months later.

Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester estimated the body had been at the remote site for at least three weeks.

Shaila Roeber, a case manager at the pre-release center, says Grover was eligible for release in July. Grover was placed there in February after completing a 60-day treatment program at Passages correctional facility in Billings.

She was sentenced in September to two years with the state Department of Corrections for criminal possession of methamphetamine.
