FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of two people, including an 8-year-old boy, killed in a crash in Fond du Lac.

The crash happened around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes of Interstate 41.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says a semitrailer was slowing down when the crash happened. A vehicle behind the semitrailer also was slowing down, but an SUV then hit that vehicle from behind.

The State Patrol says 26-year-old David Michael Button and his 8-year-old son, Joseph, were killed in the crash. The two were passengers in the vehicle that was hit from behind.

Both drivers were injured but are expected to survive. A passenger in the SUV was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The semitrailer driver wasn’t hurt.
