RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe has added a new rooftop bee hive on Capital Square in an effort to promote the importance of pollinators to the state’s food supply.

McAuliffe’s office said Thursday that state officials have put a bee hive on top of the Oliver Hill building at Capital Square as part of “Virginia Pollinator Week.”

The first lady also installed a bumble bee box and outdoor pollinator window box at the Executive Mansion.
