TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police have arrested a man who allegedly attacked two young women at a Tempe hotel pool last weekend.

Tempe police say 25-year-old Phillip Oscar Escobedo is being held on one count each of aggravated assault, assault and credit card theft.

Escobedo was arrested Wednesday afternoon. Bond was set at $25,000 at his initial court appearance Thursday. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.

Police say Escobedo met the 20-year-old victims at a Mill Avenue bar early Sunday and then invited them to the pool at the Mission Palms Hotel.

They say Escobedo allegedly attacked both victims about 3 a.m. for still unknown reasons and fled the scene.

One woman suffered a broken jaw and was hospitalized for two days. The other victim had injuries to her face and needed stitches.
