TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - An 81-year-old man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison in the stabbing death of his daughter in Tacoma.

The Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said in a news release that Milton Fabre pleaded guilty to manslaughter Friday and was sentenced to 102 months in prison.

Tacoma police responded to Fabre’s home on Dec. 31, 2015 for a domestic dispute with a knife. Police say Fabre told them his daughter, Tamara Fabre, was inside and needed help.

Officers said they found her dead on the kitchen floor with her throat cut.

Prosecutors say Tamara had moved in with her parents to care for her dying mother and stayed in the home after she died in October 2015. Witnesses said the two had a history of disputes.
