NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a man was slashed overnight in New York City’s SoHo district.

Police say it occurred around 3:15 a.m. Friday near Canal Street and West Broadway.

They say the 55-year-old victim pushed the suspect, who then slashed him on the neck.

The suspect fled and the victim was hospitalized in stable condition.

There have been no arrests.

WCBS-TV (https://cbsloc.al/28Rr1D2 ) says it’s believed the suspect was following the victim with the intention of robbing him.
